Today, I guess I accidentally left Facebook open on my work computer while I went to the bathroom, because my boss updated my status to "Unemployed." FML

One of the first things an employer of an office environment will tell you is "Stay off of Facebook!" Sorry, OP.. But YDI. You knew it was a rule and you broke it.

Why would you even post this? How can it be anything BUT ydi?

See this is why I have an iPhone. I don't have to use my work computer to get on facebook or FML. Like now. At work, on FML, and even if my boss reads this my real name is not "office ninja". See how that works?

In a work setting I'd be too afraid to get on Facebook on the computer for fear of being tracked by the company.

The company I work for has no problem with us going on FB during hours =<

Where were you working? There are hard working people out here looking for jobs that know what their phone and a break is for. YDI

So much butt hurt in these comments. If you want to look at Facebook then you should be able to, you're an adult..not in junior high. You will still have to complete the same amount of work later and maybe with more dedication and a nicer attitude. Lame boss

Let me explain something to you when you have a job some sacrifices have to be made.you can't just walk into the office and do whatever you want.you don't get paid to browse facebook or use the computer for your own use.he should have waited until he was on his break or until he got home.he deserves to be fired. If you plan on having a good career I suggest you change your attitude my friend.

I have a great job. Many companies focus too much on rules. But in the end it's productivity and what you actually accomplish. Stick by your rigid rules and I'm just as much might get done with twice the stress

Just as much** Anyway, with a major in organizational studies I'm criticizing the method of management. It's proven putting more trust/freedom in employees makes them happier. Happier employees=greater productivity. Sorry to everyone out there who works in a crappy environment.

Yeah I agree with putting trust In your employees, but let me ask you this. If you owned a business would you want someone to use your computer for his own needs and not to get things done? Giving your employees freedom is great but don't go overboard. Just my opinion.
