Today, I had a customer tell me how much she regretted not aborting her expected child, how much she hates the father, and described to me in immense detail what it is like to pee while pregnant. All within the 30 seconds it took me to serve her. FML

Instead of complaining about it, why didnt you just wait til your shift was over and talk to her? She sounds like she was pretty distressed and needed someone to talk to. Saying that someone trying to reach out to you when they need help sucks just makes you an ass, even if they are a stranger/you don't care.

Because it's not OP's job to be other people's therapist! If the lady wanted to talk about something as personal as that, she should've gone to someone she knew, not a random stranger.

I'm tired of all these ungrateful people carrying children they dont even care about or flaunt it like its a damn accessory and then you have these loving couples that desire to have kids but can't due to complications etc. That poor child!

It's actually more comforting to tell strangers personal info than to tell people you know. If she told anyone close to her how badly she wished to have an abortion they would think she was crazy and probably call child protective services. But she will probably never even see OP again. And while it is odd to get so personal with a stranger she is probably relived that she could get those feelings out even though I'm quite sure she loves the child, she just hates the predicament that she is in having no choice but to deal with that asshole of a baby-daddy for the rest of the child's life.

Hormones are not an excuse for saying those things. If that was the case all of us girls would randomly tell strangers how it feels like to pee when we're on our periods and how we'd love to abort our uterus etc.
