Today, I had a date with a guy from the Internet. I'm 6ft1, which tends to put potential dates off, so I'd slyly knocked a few inches off my description. Turns out he'd done the same. He'd added a whole foot to his height. I had to crouch to talk to him. FML

Today, I met the guy I've been talking to online for two years in real life. He tried to convince me to have his children because they would be average height. He's a midget and I'm 6'2". This is the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to me. FML

Today, as a 6 ft 8 woman, I never get much attention from men, until today when a guy who was 7 ft 1 approached me at the bar with the chat up line, "Hey little lady, you look about my size, can I buy you a drink?" It worked. I'm such a stereotype, we’re going on a date tomorrow. FML

Today, I went to a coffee shop to meet an online date. I couldn't spot him, so he eventually came up and introduced himself. It seems his on-line picture must have been taken before I was born. I spluttered "This isn't going to work," and promptly scuttled out. FML

Today, I went on an online date. I'd spent a while getting ready and making sure I looked good. When I arrived at the café, I saw my date and approached with a smile. He stood up, looked me over, and said, "Oh, I thought you were your profile picture’s friend." Then left. FML

Today, I went on a date with someone I've been talking to online for weeks. Unfortunately, it turns out they'd used old photos and misrepresented themselves, and I didn't find them attractive at all. Even I'm not that desperate. We ended up having an awkward dinner and I couldn't wait for it to be over. FML

I can relate, I'm only 5'8 but I'm in heels all the time which can bring me up to 6'2. I like Latinos and they tend to be on the short side soooo. Yeah.

I once met a guy online who was 5 feet tall, and bitched about how no one would date him because he was 5 feet tall. I chose not to meet him in person, and it had nothing to do with his height. It had EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he didn't stop bitching about how no one would love him because of it. Guess what turned me off? NOT the height.

I'm 5'4 and my husband is 6'5. I think most tall guys like dating short girls, unfortunately. Being tall has made them "special" their entire life and with a short girl that feature is made more obvious.

If your 6'1" and you say your 5'9" or something, that's one thing thing, but say your 5'3" and you claim to be 6'3",that's entirely different. I'd be more put off that he made such an obvious lie.
