if she said that to you she was probably just trying to manipulate you. i have bipolar and have the whole depression and mixed state thing going on and i wouldn't off myself b/c my boyfriend dumped me. it's not some thing that is necessarily related to self harm either. people can self harm without being prone to suicidal tendencies. i think she was just being manipulative.
