Today, I had a job interview at a café. The interviewer asked me my availability and I told her that I was fully flexible. She laughed and said, "Really? That's tragic." FML

Maybe she has a sense of humor and would be fun to work with... or a total bitch.

Shouldn't she be happy? Employers want people who have flexible schedules.

So she's going to fix that and give you tha job, right?

I would be pretty happy if I was an employer. I could put you anywhere!

(Winks and makes finger into pistol) Anywhere?

To quote a movie I once tried to write... 'Don't say I can't put it there. Now I /only/ want to put it there!'

Here's to your broken screenwriting dreams, 22. *tips hat*

That seems rather rude and unprofessional of her. Don't feel bad, OP. Most employers love employees who are willing to come in whenever needed.

What a bitch. I would want to work there now. Good luck though on finding a job.

I was sitting here wondering how physical flexability would be a bad thing, then after a couple minutes I realized that isnt what was meant.

I feel like she was honestly trying to crack a joke. Maybe so you wouldn't be nervous for the interview? Either way, I'm digging her sense of humor and I totally would've laughed at that. Sarcastic, dry humor is the best.

Maybe OP is sensitive at her lack of social life and it's a huge insecurity for her and comments like that could knock her into a crippling depression--aaaahhhhh, you're right! It's hilarious!

She's making a bit of an assumption there. I, for example, work 12-15 hours a day, but I'm still completely flexible because for the most part I don't have actual scheduled meetings, I'm just working on a Ph.D. thesis every waking second.
