My first day of Spanish class we had to introduce ourself to the whole class and I said "Bonjour". Lol
That's not so bad, confusing the languages under pressure. French and Spanish are actually relatively similar. At least you didn't ask a German teacher for the hall pass in spanish as I did. I got several "What the ****" stares. It happens
Yeah. At least it was two languages from the same continent though. My mom one day spoke to me in French and for some reason I answered in Japanese... You can imagine how much of an idiot I felt!
Ha! I actually did the exact same thing on Tuesday in my French class. Just shrug it off or laugh about it.
I didn't know you guys are learning our language... You must have a cute accent :-)
Everybody's commenting in French and I'm just like 0.o no comprendo!
Il va falloir apprendre alors :) * You should start learning then :)
52-I'm fluent in Spanish, I never really thought I'd need to learn French.
Since you are fluent in Spanish it will be easier for you to learn French. It would be easier because both languages are Latin based
I know this, and some things I can figure out what they're saying since its similar. I've just never really been interested in French. I have wanted to learn Italian though. Maybe one of these days. :)
Actually, if you know Spanish well enough, French shouldn't be extremely difficult. I only took 2 years of French but I can read it very well due to the fact that a lot of the words in French are very similar to Spanish. The only word in French that I never understood where the hell they came up with it but it's fun to say is Pamplemousse. It means Grapefruit. It's one of those... WTF words but anyway, you get my drift :)
that's actually really common when you are learning a language. It means that you understand how the languages relate to each other and your brain is just choosing the easiest word to say. Embarrassing when it happens though lol.
But... Spanish is so much more useful in America....
