$200.00 in Minnesota. Stay out my parking spot A-HOLE!!!
im actually really quite tired of the debate. there should be handicapped stalls but at the malls here in edmonton there are at least 10 for every entrance. my sons bday was on sat and my husband and hurt his back at work but didnt want to miss out on getting our son his present but i still had to park in a regular stall and he had walk why, becuase when i went to pull up to the door to let him out a security gaurd jumped to attention and started yelling at me for being a no parking zone, and my husband was embarrassed. so he walked across the lot with a very very sore back. i have seen many older folks walking with a limp to get into the store and becuase they dont have a sticker or a decal they cannot park there. they have knees or backs. its bullshit ive seen people who are just obese and extremly fat with the decals and their only reason for having it is their too fat to walk. bullshit
Couldn't agree with you more. My boyfriend has severe Hyper Mobility Syndrome and Fibro Myalgia; on most days he seems fine (although he's not really), but when it flares up he's in agony and it costs a lot of energy to walk short distances. He doesn't have a decal/sticker though, so despite actually being genuinely disabled, he'd get fined if he parked in one of those spaces. Yet as you said, there are fat people with decals purely because they're too heavy to walk without getting out of breath.
The Massachusetts laws: Violations A parking ticket of $100 to $300 may be issued to a person who parks in a handicapped accessible spot without a handicapped placard or license plate. In addition, the police can have the car towed. However, the law is much stricter for those who abuse handicapped parking permits. If you are found to be wrongfully using a handicapped permit (using somebody else’s placard or using a phony placard, for example), you can be fined $500 (or $1000, if it’s not your first time). A citation for wrongful use of a handicapped permit will also result in a mandatory 30-day license suspension. You got off easy. You were lucky enough to only get a $100 fine, and it should have been more. I don't know Colorado laws, though, so I can't judge whether that was a low fine for that state.
People like that piss me off, my mum is disabled and often has to struggle across large car parks in her wheelchair because selfish able-bodied people park in the disabled bays. It's disgusting and said people should be ashamed of themselves, including you OP
That was really stupid of you. If you don't need the parking spot, then you shouldn't take it JUST because it's close and you're cold.
Yep, that ticket was well earned by OP.
YDI you lazy ****
You can walk several steps. Your cold? It's called bundling up.
YDI, idiot-that-can't-wrap-their-head-around-the-fact-that-disabled-spaces-are-for-the-disabled,-not-for-stupid-lazy-bitches.

Of course it was super close. Handicapped people generally can't get around very well. F their lives if they had to park in a far away normal space because you can't handle twelve seconds of cold.
You deserved it. Nothing else to say, really.
