Today, I had an asthma attack while in bed with my boyfriend. He interrupted my desperate coughing only to tell me to shut up. He then rolled over to go back to sleep. FML

What an asshole. Kick his ass out the bed and drag him to the couch.

Ugh! The exact reason why I don't date men cause some of them are just plain assholes and jerks. Others are nice. OP Do yourself a huge favor and find someone else. Your boyfriend deserves to be kicked in the teeth.

what A a-hole. Id tell him to shut up the kick him an knock him out of bed.

You have no way of knowing both sides. Everyone jumps on the "he's a dick, dump him" train with little information. He could have been joking or even said it in his sleep. Does every girl just break up with their boyfriends the second they do something they don't like?

If he were joking, I'd jump on the "dump him" train too. To me it seems like he was barely awake. Maybe still dreaming even, and shouting at someone in his dream to quiet down, who knows.

oh shut up, dumb ass. even if he were "joking", he's still an evil piece of trash. who ******* "jokes" about somebody having an ASTHMA ATTACK?

#81 Calm your rage. Being woken up in the middle of sleeping is really friggen annoying. He had every right to say shut up.

The guy was sleeping give him a break, most would have probably done the same when woken up

Ok, I'm actually quite surprised by all the hate towards the boyfriend. In all likelihood, he was probably more than half asleep, and this may not have been the first (or second, or third..) time. In any case, OP is a big girl, and should have enough sense to have her inhaler on her bedside table. If she often has asthma attacks, she should be taking a preventer before going to bed anyway. I'm afraid I'm firmly on the boyfriends side here (though asking if she was ok would have been nice), as my partner used to have between 4-6 asthma attacks PER NIGHT that he would often sleep through! These presented themselves as extreme coughing fits, and most of the time, I would have to wake him up to use his inhaler. Believe me, being woken up constantly gets annoying pretty quickly. I soon went from sweet, loving girlfriend to homicidal maniac after about 10 sleep-deprived nights, and would have cheerfully broken his nose if it meant I could get more sleep. Fortunately, a move to warmer climes improved his asthma markedly.

I was thinking of saying something along these lines. No one, NO ONE is perfectly coherent being woken up in the middle of the night. He could have easily been half-asleep and not even completely aware of what was happening.
