Today, I had an excellent conversation with this guy I met on a gay dating site. We really hit it off well and had a lot in common. We got to the point where he asked me for my picture. I showed it to him and he stopped responding. FML

Original poster here. Just wanted to clear up a few things: I'm really not upset about it. It kind of got to me when it happened but I got over it pretty quickly. The only thing that upset me was the fact that I told him that if he wasn't interested, I'd still like to be friends and he completely disregarded that. Ultimately, I just wanted to make my first FML, lol. #17, #18 - He had already seen two of my pictures, but a 3rd one was slightly more revealing, and that was what did me in! #13 - Ouch! That must have been AWKWARD to say the least. :/ #12 and #15 - I don't mind if you think that way. It's a free country, we're entitled to our opinions, after all. But you know what they say... usually the loudest homophobes are closet cases themselves! ;)

It has happened to me a lot too. It's more of a good thing than you realize. Most of those guys who stop talking to you after they see your picture did not care about anything you said from the start. When you find a guy who stays after he sees your picture, keep him. Remember, looks fade, no matter what. So all those guys who ignored you? In 15 years they will be nothing more than an old used potato sack that has no one to go home to at the end of the day.

Dating sites are pathetic, regardless of preference.

It doesn't mean your ugly, maybe he's just not into your type. I never find Latinos attractive, for some reason, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them, most girls love them. They just won't be getting into MY pants. It could be just that simple.

Maybe he didn't realize it was a gay site. Later tonight look for "Today, I met someone on a dating site and asked the charming individual to send me a pic. It was a pic of a guy. Apparently I've been searching for a new lover on a gay dating site. FML."

Why is everybody calling the guy an asshole? I mean, if he's not attracted to a person, do you really think he wants to pursue a relationship with them? None of you would ever date a person you're unattracted to, because it would be stupid and a waste of time. I agree that there are many things more important than physical appearance, but you can't call a guy an asshole because he doesn't want to be with a person he finds unattractive. Some of you may be saying it's because he just stopped talking, but really, what could he say? "You're ugly, I don't want to talk to you?" Would that have been better? You people need to stop being so self-righteous and go try to be in a happy relationship with somebody you have no physical attraction to, or even worse yet, somebody you find physically repulsive. It won't happen.

This is an every day occurrence for me (I'm the one who doesn't respond after seeing his picture).

he's such an asshole. way to be shallow. i hope you find someone OP!

This is why you send pictures early. He isnt being shallow...what's the point of dating someone you're not attracted to? He at least could have been civil though and say he's not into it.

LOL, That happens all the time. Most of the people in sites like that are looking for a quick hookup, so you can't expect your personality to be your strongest point.
