Today, I had eight teeth removed in preparation for getting my braces fitted. My winter break will now consists of barely being able to sleep or eat, tasting blood, and looking like a goofy-ass chipmunk. FML

Look on the bright side OP, isn't it better to go through this over a break versus school? At least you don't have that to worry about that at the same time.

Don't worry, everything will be fine when you get your braces on. Having braces is like living in anesthetized heaven with intervals of orgasmic pleasure when you get them tightened. I cried when they took them off. I envy you, goofy-ass chipmunk.

Well you see, this is the world wide web... People all over the world is on this thing. And sometimes people far far away is having the opposite season as you. Next time I'll tell you about the weather and why not everyone's having same weather as you.. :)

Besides the fact that the Southern Hemisphere has winter while it's summer in the Northern, sometimes FMLs are published months after they are submitted. At least, I hope that's the case. There's a coffee shop one you guys are going to love if they ever wise up and publish it.

At least you had it done over winter break. I had eight teeth pulled as well and got my braces on a few days before school started... my cheeks were swollen, and I couldn't eat or sleep either, which made concentrating during class really hard. At least you're on break..

I had nearly the same thing happen. I have had 14 teeth pulled in all - 9 right before I was given braces in high school. Believe me, as hard as it is now, it will be all worth it when you have a beautiful straight smile for the rest of your life. Just hang in there :)

Australia's in the southern hemisphere. Because the Earth's axis is tilted, the seasons are opposite on the northern and southern hemispheres. So for them, summer is in December and winter is in July.
