Today, I had my first ever shift at the zoo. My job is to explain the characteristics and habits of various animals to the visitors. A five-year-old outsmarted me while I was talking about lions. FML

Personally, I don't blame you. There are some really bright 5-year-olds out there. But, either way shouldn't YOU, as the zoo employ know more?

If this had been 11 years ago I'd be asking if it was me. I was one of the kids who knew a ridiculous amount about animals and dinosaurs. I had the Latin names and everything memorized in some cases, and I corrected about every specialist I ran into who was giving informational speeches on them. I also got into arguments with them. Turns out people don't like loosing to a little kid. And I wonder why I had trouble making friends...

i bet the 5 year old got it from an educational show

Sounds like you bullshitted your way to a job, and a kid blew your cover

Some kids are just really really smart. I wouldnt blame you much, but if I were you I'd try to have some extra long additional facts on my phone, just in case.

That's okay, my 3 year old niece is smarter than me. I just turned 16 in may.

Time to watch the animal planet channel again.... Haha! Don't feel bad OP, kids at that age are like sponges.
