Today, I had the contraceptive implant removed from my arm after having had it in for three years. I was one of the unlucky people whose body sticks to it. It took half an hour to cut and pull a tiny little stick out of my arm. FML

Today, I found out that I have unnecessarily been using birth control for the past 10 years. A surgery I had following a complication with my first child apparently rendered me infertile, and none of the doctors bothered to enlighten me. FML

Today, I missed an important meeting at work because I was vomiting from painful cramps. Just last week I was recommending that everyone get the implant because I hadn't had symptoms in two years. FML

Today, I found out that I'm pregnant. I had an IUD put in two years ago that's supposed to prevent pregnancy. To put it in perspective, less than 1% of people using this IUD get pregnant. Lucky me. FML

I had the exact thing happen with mine!!! It took 2 nurses and a doctor 45 mins to get mine out! Its nice to know someone else is in that small percent as me!

I know how you feel! It took a nurse 45mins to get my implant out, it hurt so much and I'm now left with a weird puckered scar.

Oh god I hope that doesn't happen when I have to get mine taken out in about a year or two. Now I am nervous. OP I hope your arm heals up with out any scars!

I had the same thing happen then to add to it the surgical tape they use to close the hole.... turns out I'm allergic and got chemical burns and blisters all down my arm.

I'm one of those but I had it taken out after 6 months of it failing. Took roughly the same amount as yours. Longest time for that doctor to take it out.
