Was it the Evil Monkey from Family Guy? (: He's harmless.
What if there is a monkey on the wall and you can't see it because /you/ overdose on the pills.
Considering the fact that your mother accidentally overdosed and could have died, i'd say this was more of an FML for her. You should be happy she is still alive...

Sedate her
Yes, because it's a good idea to give her more random drugs after she's already got a bit too many in her system.
Sounds bananas.
How does someone "accidentally" over-dose? I wonder if this is the first time she has done this. I feel for OP.
it happens all the time..
I'm just saying it is hard to do that on accident. Most people who take more than prescribed do it on purpose.
It's not hard to forget that you've done something mundane, like taking a daily dose of medicine... It's possible she took a double dose by accident? I'm not knowledgable enough about pharmaceuticals to know if any would cause hallucinations in a similar situation. Seems possible though, especially if it was a psychiatric drug.
Typically a double dose isn't harmful. You would have to take an entire bottle or maybe half to have hallucinations. Either way I feel sorry for OP. Having an irresponsible parent sucks.
69 - that's not always true though, it depends on the kind of medication. i was prescribed benzodiazepines for anxiety and during an anxiety attack i took a couple over the recommended dose (which is 1mg) and it gave me terrible hallucinations (among other side effects). but if it's an otc medication it would definitely take a lot more than a few pills to make you hallucinate.
69- 2 ambient can make you hallucinate crazy shit. Not exactly a harmful dose and easy to forget you've already taken one, but the effects are...out there. A lot of drugs can have hallucinogenic effects if taken even just slightly over the recommended dose, or even at the standard dose if you're underweight.
**Ambiens** damn autocorrect
It could be as easy as the pills being the same look but a different dose, she could be taking 30mg in what had been 3 capsules and is now 1, forgot the change and took 3 times her dose, using the way my capsule amounts changed a while back. I didn't have a problem because I'm paranoid and read the labels ever time 'just in case' but it's easy to see how it could happen.
Some people pay a lot of money for drugs that make them trip out like that. Meanwhile, others pay a lot of money to rehabilitate from those drugs, prescribed or not. I have lost a few people to prescribed medication ODs. Evil monkeys aside, accidents like this are a very serious, life-threatening issue.
This shit is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Tell her to quit monkeying around
Well, she seems like she's having a good time.
