When did blindness become a race? Blindness would be physical discrimination
Damn venetian blinds, taking all our vertical jobs!
Just tell him that your window doesn't have any blinds. That'll sure confuse him.
I'm the "bitch" that wont sell alcohol to someone if the person they're with doesn't have their ID with them..... I get called all sorts of names. I know how you feel but at least you still have your job right? :)
I'm sorry that you have to deal with such stupidity
He was obviously NOT blind, since he was able to come to your store (unassisted, probably drove or walked) & "see" to pick out the alcohol he wanted, then walk to your register (again, unassisted) & then go home. If he were really "blind", you could have asked for manager assistance & switched out his booze with something else & he wouldn't have noticed until his drunk self got home & opened it..lol. If it happens again, inform them that racism is based on color not inebriation & it's against store policy (maybe even the law) to sell to an intoxicated person. You made the right call though, OP, as this guy could have end up killing someone & you would have that on your conscience.
First of all, I think OP works at a bar. That pretty much mutes all of your arguments. I am agreeing, though, that he was of course drunk. ""see" to pick out the alcohol he wanted" i work at a bar and people walk up and just tell me what they want to drink. They don't see the drinks (especially if I'm pouring a beer or getting a softdrink, lemon lime and bitters, etc. "manager assistance & switched out his booze with something else & he wouldn't have noticed until his drunk self got home & opened it" regardless, the man would have known if you walked away and if a manager came up and swapped the drinks. if he couldn't see what was happening, he'd hear it. "If it happens again, inform them that racism is based on color not inebriation & it's against store policy (maybe even the law) to sell to an intoxicated person" when i did my rsa (responsible service of alcohol) we were told that it is against the law to serve someone who is intoxicated. if they have difficulty counting money, with their speech, smell like alcohol, etc, we can't sell them alcohol. You are right in this statement, though. I would probably say, "sir, i can't sell you alcohol because i could loose my license to serve and the bar could be fined." Because he's yelling, though, I can also tell him to leave the bar and call a taxi for him. Of course, I'm in Australia, so the rules are different. "this guy could have end up killing someone" real talk, though, everyone has the capacity to kill someone regardless. because it is against the law to sell to intoxicated people, the bar would have a bad rep if he had killed someone outside the premises and it was discovered that the bar had sold an intoxicated man drinks. Wow, such a long response. I should get a life.
I always did prefer curtains
That would be prestigious I would think I just love how people mistake prestigious racism and anti-semetism

At least you did the right thing.
Logic doesn't work well against drunk people.
