Maybe he meant propotianally it might seem different?
Taking 5280 feet a little too seriously
There was a woman on "Canada's Worst Driver" a few years ago who kept asking about miles when Canada's used the metric system since the 1970s. Then, at one point, the contestants had to drive a British car (which was actually a Nissan, but whatever) and she started asking about English miles. Just to clarify, the woman WAS Canadian and had English as a first language. Reading a speedometer shouldn't have been confusing for her.
I could see how he would think that lol it would take a mouse an hour to maybe go a mile lol
Why not metric?
Well, I'm 95% sure he was trolling you. Also, you can't say he's wrong until you provide a reference to the official definiton of a 'mouse mile'.
That's actually kind of adorable.
Maybe he's cinderella, and mice told him their rule with miles.
Get the hint, use the metric system. Countries that use the metric system produce fewer idiots ;)

34 mouse years or 34 human years?
Damn, so when that mouse was bragging to me about running several miles, he was talking about ACTUAL miles?! That IS impressive.
