I don't think you should have had to qualify it with 'old' or 'woman'. You don't slap people on the ass outside of specialized environments where all parties are aware and consenting. I'd mention mild discipline for ones own children as an option, but frankly from what I hear the knuckle meets ruler/spoon tends to get the message across with one rap, so keep the ass slapping to the consenting adults.
