Today, I had to fire an employee because she constantly calls in, or is late to work. She became very emotional and I felt kind of bad, so I walked her out myself. We then got stuck in the company elevator. FML

In this economy people should value their job and be model employees. Employers have their pick of people right now, especially in the lower skilled areas.

The downside is many employers will use that to their advantage in a way that they treat their employees like slaves and pay them with dirt because they know they can get away with it. It's really shitty and unfair but that's life.

#17.. same here. Ours have frozen our pay for the last 3 years (we're now on minimum wage) lengthened the opening hours we have to work (Yay 14hr shifts!) but cut all overtime. They have doubled our workload but it's OK because 'Plenty of people would kill for this job'!

Where the **** do you live?... In most states doing just one of those things would be illegal, check the laws regarding labour in your state. Might turn out they owe you some serious back pay.
