Today, I have an infected piercing because I'm allergic to the metal. My ear is so swollen that I can't remove the jewelry. It won't get better until I'm able to remove the jewelry. FML

Looks like you better man up and pull it out of your ear. Or, you know, see a doctor.

This is unfortunate, but definitely a YDI from me. You should have put more research into what was going into your body. I recommend 'The Association Of Professional Piercers' to point you to reputable studios and what to look for regarding quality of body jewelry.

I just also. I'm actually a body piercer myself. If you go to a doctor and they say remove it. Do that. We are piercers, not doctors. And while doctors aren't always right they do out rank us. There are many appropriate metals for piercing. Sterling silver and stainless steel are not it. So many people on this FML are giving poor advice. Don't listen to any of them. The APP have a facebook page. They are some of the most skilled piercers world wide. I urge you to go ask any questions there before following this lots advice.

Any piercing shop will help you take it out.

go to the hospital or the the body modification shop. they'll help

Either go to a doctor and have it removed or force it out of your ear. Geez. I'm really sorry. :(

Ice it to hopefully reduce swelling as best you can. Then pretty much use pliers to get a grip of when end to prevent from turning while you attempt to remove it. Its gunna suck to remove but its better than letting your body reject it. Normally piercers use a special hypoallergenic plastic to prevent this and so worst case scenario you can cut it out. Surprised they didnt.

Welp, that's what doctors and hospitals are for.

It will eventually migrate out of your body I've had issues with piercings before so I know

This happened to me they gave me a numbing shot in my ear and pulled it out. It involved a lot of blood and the needle was a little painful in my ear but everything healed fast after.

I sincerely hope you went and saw a doctor, first of all. Secondly this isn't all that uncommon and there are alternative metals in piercings/gauges/rings/plugs/studs for this reason! Good luck!
