this is great to read when i'm getting an IUD on monday! someone i know said she bled for two months straight. i hope it gets better quickly for the both of us
That's normal. An IUD can take 3-6 months to regulate your cycle. Everyone's body responds differently to it so it may not take as long for you to feel normal again. The benefits of the IUD are really worth it, and I was personally willing to stick through that transition process, but if you are in a lot of pain or it makes it difficult for you to perform daily tasks, I would advise you to have it removed.

When my doctors put it in they literally told me 10 times that I might be bleeding for up to 6 months. I'm gonna say you're fine. You can always bring it up at your 1 month follow-up.

I bleed for 4 months! But don't worry it goes away!!
Hey! I have one too and actually it's very common to have prolonged bleeding for the first few weeks even months. You're uterus is just adjusting to a the foreign object, wait it out it's totally worth it!
I understand the frustration. A few years ago I tried the depo shot and ended up bleeding non-stop for 6months. This was even though I only had one shot. After the first three months, my doctor tried to tell me that some women react to it in different ways and that it should stop soon. It didn't stop for three more months after that. I found out the hard way that I just can't deal with birth control.
My main concern is it says OP is male ??
Go back to your doctor. That is not normal. My wife switched over to the shot a few years ago and bled the entire first four months she had it. The doctor called her crazy for not actually coming back earlier

Have you told your doctor? You probably should if you haven't, that doesn't seem normal.
I've had that happen to me. Was on my period for like 2 months. Had them take it out and it ended a week later
