Today, I heard back from my store management interview at Target. I was offered an overnight stock clerk position. When I called HR to find out if my application was in the wrong file I was told I lack the leadership qualities necessary for Target. I graduated with honors from a military school. FML

I don't get why you're complaining. Military school obviously leaves you with an inferior education for working at Target. There's stocking shelves, answering phones, operating a cash register, mopping floors. You may even have to show customers where things are located in the store. I think you may actually have to have your PhD to work there.

They were probably looking for people with actual experience as a retail manager. Sometimes, even with an education, you still need to start at the bottom.

I don't know why a few people above hate Target so much as an employer. I have been a team member for almost three years and I like it. I also earned good grades, had good recommendations and am currently doing well in college, so the theory that they only hire mindless automatons is pretty much void. Chances are your Target isn't hiring for team leads right now, or if they are, they have a selected number of available positions. Target also takes your personality and experience into account. Usually they don't hire managers without them first being team members who have served on the floor and know the ins and outs of the Target store. If you're that desperate, take the smaller position and work your way up. Good luck!

Well, #29 I must admit that the French have never been on the side of America in unsuccessful wars, but I see no reason to blame us in your misfortune. Target is, as far as can be a big corporation nowadays, an all-american company as this link will tell you http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/ownership/institutional.asp?symbol=TGT Surprisingly, assholes are everywhere, even in America it seems. #39, I was not trying to count victories or losses in war of France or America, just to point that the statement "Target is French-owned" is false and a random mark of hatred that I think is way out of the original subject. And you seem to go the same way. Next time, try not quoting a mocking, irrelevant, partial website.
