Something sort of similar happened to me, except it was with the choosing of schools. I'd been told my whole life that my tuition would be paid for for whatever I chose, and in grade twelve my parents told me I had to go to the university near my house (which is a good university) instead of the university father away which had the program I wanted. I had no savings at all, and was stuck with the school near me. I like it now, but it still isn't what I'd wantef

They are obviously controlling, shallow and superficial, they'll just keep blackmailing you with the money until they mould you into exactly what they want to be. If you love her (or really care about her if it's early) then be with her. If not then you should leave her anyway. Otherwise you're basically being a gold digger if money is more important than love... :/

Lower social class, what is this the Middle Ages? I'd keep the relationship on the down low.
