Today, I just bought a car with all of my own money. Then, when I brought it home my dad informed me that my mom will be driving it to work every day. FML

you tell your dad no she wont... its your car u bought it with ur money... unless she's going to make the insurance payments on it for u and full cover it so if she wrecks it she replaces it

I just want to slap people that expect back payment for raising children. Keeping the utlities on, rent paid and food in the house is your legal responsibility once you decide to have children. If you cant do this for 18 years zip your pants up, invest in birth control or look into adoption. The mother has been getting to work without OPs care before hand she can continue to do so now. I would look into moving out as soon as possible as your parents obviously don't understand boundaries. If you're under 18 and they push the issue I'd consider selling the car and telling them you're saving the money for college, you can get a bank account they do not have access to by the age of 16 so your money will be safer than your vehicle.

i would honestly be ok with that. after all, im assuming your parents let you use their own vehicle before you had your own. (which they paid for and shit) if not, well, these are the parents that raised you for 18 years and paid for everything until then. Dont be so selfish. but if you're still down about it, she can at least help pay for gas.

Paying for their kid for the first 18yrs became their job when they chose to have kids. If they don't do that, they get charged with child abuse and neglect. Don't want to spend time or money on kids? Either give them to someone who aren't total jerks that expect repayment for the choices they've made, or just don't have kids.

ha yeah right if that was me if laugh in my folks face if they tried to pull that. unless they were gonna throw down for half of everything including the cost of the car then and only then could they take the car when needed
