I'd stake my life savings that most of you idiots saying "It's your job, suck it up, you chose it so YDI" have never had a real job. Every job has ups and downs, and OP is just venting, not deploring her miserable situation. Just wait until you're out in the real world.
...said the doctor who doesn't know people don't want to hear anybody complain about any profession that's not their own. "Idiots" probably not; "Human" most likely.
I'd say all the people who read my blog would strongly disagree with you.
66, Saying "Today I had to treat an obese patient with a yeast infection between her fat folds" is completely different to the holier than thou crap that has been posted here. It clearly suggests this work is beneath them, which is exactly why everyone is saying YDI..
Yeah but IRL, no one really listens to their friends complaining about work...right?
102 - Have you read the comments on most FML's? We're not so much enjoying the person's complaint as we're enjoying our own responses & comments about the FML. "I came for the FML, but stayed for the comments." Human nature, buddy.
You clearly don't know jack shit about being in healthcare. You take the good with the bad and then you complain about the bad. It has nothing to do with passion or anything else. We see the worst that mankind can dole out, and then we come back to work the next day and do it all over again. The only thing that is pathetic is idiots like you who can't understand that.
you're complaining because you're doing the job you set out to do? :/ providing health care isn't all fun and games, you have to do the gross stuff too.
67- thanks for the heads-up :)..I'm a future surgeon.. To the OP, this reminds me of a story I saw from twitter about an obese woman whose boyfriend found a dead cat under her folds as he was going down on her.. So,stuff happens :)
If thats the worst you have to complain about being in the medical profession, then count yourself lucky. YDI I've seen much more disturbing things in the medical field.
It doesn't matter if this is OP's job. In fact, because it's her job she treated that woman. However, doesn't mean OP can't be disgusted by what she saw. Any one of you people would be just as much grossed out. I know I would.

Uncertain on how to vote here, on one hand that sucks, but then again it is a job you trained for. Actually, I made up my mind. You became a health care provider by choice, and by obviously knowing it wasn't all going to be sunshine, rainbows, and unicorn farts.
