Today, I learned the reason they say don't keep your phone in high humidity places. I left my phone on the counter when I went to take a shower. It now won't turn on due to water damage and the warranty doesn't cover it. FML

I take showers with my phone in the bathroom all the time...it's fine

Yea, that really sucks... But if you were told not to put it in a high humidity place and you did, YDI. Sidenote: put it in rice for a day. Dries it out niiice :)

I've texted from the shower and this has never happened to me...although I keep my phone wrapped in a towel when I'm not using it to keep the moisture out. Also, ever heard of a fan? They help regulate temperature...

I don't text, I just play music. but since it didn't happen to me yet I'll be careful(:

huh. that's odd. I leave my iPod in the bathroom all the time when I'm taking a shower, and it still works fine.

Put your phone in dry rice. It will take out the moisture in a few days.

the same thing happened to my friend's phone. YDI though

Nice try. A few minutes on a counter near a shower won't kill it. Stuffing it into your panties all day, setting it on vibrate and calling yourself from your desk? That'll do it! And, yes, customer service is trained to notice fishy odors.
