Today, I learned why my bathroom has a horrible, seemingly irremovable stench. My cat doesn't squat to pee like a normal cat. She stands up, peeing over the side of the litter tray all over the wall and floor, which are now a permanent yellow tinge. FML

Yah, that's called spraying. Is your cat fixed? If not, this could be why. Also, this could be a sign of a medical issue such as a Urinary Tract Infection. You need to get your cat fixed if it isn't, and see a vet.

First, your cat may be a boy, they tend to do this more often. Second, get it fixed if it's not. Third, have the vet run a profile for a urinary tract infection. Fourth, get a litter box with a hood on it. Fifth, wash the walls. Try Greased Lightning, I know it works well on dog pee-you can get it cheaply at dollar stores. Sixth, don't just paint over it...it will still stink.

^^ That's hilarious. I know how you feel. My cat feels the need to spread his shitty cat litter throughout the house. It's like a scavenger hunt trying to find it all.

lol when my cat poops she gets in the litter box and hangs her ass over the end of it

Three words: Anti Icky Poo. Sounds funny but it works on cat pee like crazy, it has enzymes or something. I hope they sell it in Australia, your country bans a lot of stuff for some reason.

Try Urine Gone. It has enzymes that neutralize the smell.

thats y u shouldnt have a cat there evil

Eew. I suggest a covered litterbox with a swinging door.

Exactly. And a little more interest in what is up in your bathroom.

This is actually not that uncommon. Intarwebs search for 'elevator butt pee'er' and you'll see. One of my cats kept peeing high enough that it leaked under the box. Even with a covered box, she peed out the front. I got fed up, so I went to Walmart, bought a large clear tote ( http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10401052&findingMethod=rr - like that), cut a 'u' shape in the side (high enough that if standing and facing the front, urine will still hit the tote and not go out the exit), and presto-chango, problem solved. I cut it in the wide side, so I can have the tote against a wall nicely, but it's up to you. I haven't had an issue since. http://petprojectblog.com/archives/cats/make-your-own-cat-litter-box/
