That is why you let NO ONE borrow something as substantial like your car without some collateral. Let 'em pay their own damn cab fare… I learned that the hard way, too! >:(
1. Never let anyone borrow your car 2. Call the insurance company and file a claim* 3. Go to the local courthouse, and file a claim against the friend for the car** * if you not have insurance, skip this step ** look up the value of the car, and if you have insurance and they will pay out on the car minus deductible, sue for the deductible
When I was in my 20's I co-signed for a friend to help him establish his credit. His payment was $10. a month. Every month I had to run him down and remind him. I learned that if a person's parents won't help him out -- there is a good reason. So there's a good reason why your "friend" doesn't have a car.
