Today, I looked up the side effects of the antidepressants I've recently started taking. Inability to orgasm is one of them. I can either not be depressed, or I can have an orgasm. FML

Orgasming is an antidepressant in itself :)

Try Bupropion (Wellbutrin XL)

Honestly, i;d get off the pills. A lot of the times doctors are to quick and always prescribe medication when they may not be needed. Try curing your depressing naturally instead of resorting to pills. There are tons of negative side effects and they are not worth it unless your depression is really bad. So go with the orgasms ;D

Also regular exercise helps to release the happy hormones lol.. So wutever it is ur depressed about either change it or just learn to love it and be happy:)

22, and 17. What you don't realize is that depression can be a purely chemical imbalance with little or no causes linked to things happening in your life. Imagine having a nerve disorder like fibro myalgia. Where you randomly experience hyper sensitivity and pain for no reason. Would you tell that person to suck it up and get off meds? There are times where medication is needed.

Thank you 43! There is still so much ignorance and stigma surrounding mental illness. Clinical Depression is not just feeling sad and sufferers are not weak people. You can't just tell someone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, get some exercise and be happy. It is a medical illness like diabetes or high blood pressure but we don't tell diabetics to just feel better. Most anti-depressants or not a happy pill. They don't magically cure you and make everything in your life better. They simply put you on an even keel so you can get around to living your life without the debilitation of all the mental AND physical symptoms.

I've been diagnosed with depression (as well as having adult a.d.d.) and I've found that I am much better off the meds then when I was on. It's was a struggle at first to discover the best thing for my "problems", but there IS a possibility to help yourself without medication. In fact, I had extra issues from side effects, which needed other medication to treat. So yes, not everyone can do it without medicine but there is that possibility! You can't compare one to another, everyone's different and ever disease is treated differently.

My dad was diagnosed with Bipolar Manic Depression. If he doesn't take his medicine for a day and he is ready to kill someone or himself.

22- Are you trying to say OP is fat or something?

"So wutever it is ur depressed about either change it or just learn to love it and be happy:)"? Can I smack you?

Shouldn't you look up the side effects of your medication BEFORE you start taking it?

Nah, that would involve common sense.

It depends on how common the side effect it. Some people never experience some or any side effects. If you are unable to do so, talk to your doctor to explore some other option in regards to your therapy.

Cure your depression with orgasms. Helps me cope, so I'm sure you can work something out! :D take care.

That happened to me for a few weeks, but you'll regain ability! ;)

Side effects don't apply to 100% of patients 100% of the time; they're just possibilities and the drug companies list every possibility to cover all the bases, no matter how likely or unlikely they may be. I wouldn't worry about the possible side effects unless you actually see them happen to you.

Hmm satisfying orgasms or boring pills and a boring sex life. Take your pick.
