200yrs ago people married in their teens. So waiting till marriage to have sex was not an issue. Today people usually wait till they finish school and get a career started, buy a house which makes them in their late 20's early 30's an beyond. it is absurd to expect a 33yr old unmarried man/woman to not have sex.

Yeouch...painful, then awkward. Yes, YLS. All is not lost tho...you (or better yet, your bf) can get condoms in polyisoprene or polyurethane. He can even go old school and get sheepskin condoms, if he's got money to burn. Here's hoping your doc respects the law...but damn, that has to be an awkward round of golf!
