A tool belt will work as well as an apron or bag.
Who discharged you without ensuring you had adequate provisions for meal prep? I'm an Occupational Therapist working in elective orthopaedics. Most of my patients go home with kitchen trolleys or perch stools to prevent this exact problem.
Depends where you live, I'm Scotland and we get sent home with nothing. Just crutches
They should have tested the iq of the patient. If you can't figure out how to feed yourself while on crutches you belong in a home. If you're able bodied enough to "walk" on crutches you better be able to figure out how to eat food from a refrigerator. Thanks Obama.
Mine even told me i would be able to put weight on my knee after surgery. Until i had it. Same with my angiogram. Didnt tell me i couldnt lift until after it was done. Both times my mom had to emergently fly out.
I should add i had a one year old both times so it was a big deal to not be able to take care of her.
When I sprained my ankle really bad I wore cargo shorts and pants so I had extra pockets to stick the stuff I needed into it doesn't work for everything which is where a grocery bag can also come in handy just be careful not to get it caught on anything
Dumb. Carry a backpack? Wear a tote on your neck? This is not a hard fix.
I'm no engineer, but try putting the food in a box and throwing it to where the microwave is.
I had this problem when I broke my leg. I wore basketball shorts and pit the food in a plastic bag and would put them in my pocket to go
You mean you aren't smart enough to find a way to move food from the fridge to a surface to eat from? I just had knee surgery and I was able to solve a simple puzzle of moving objects around to feed my self while on crutches. No sympathy YDI
A backpack on the front of your body is super convenient, despite the fact that it looks ridiculous. A rolling desk chair works well if you have one. Or you could do what I did and crutch using your armpits while carrying things in your hands, though that gets a bit risky.

I had that issue after my ankle surgery, too. Put on an apron and make a pouch or use a grocery bag to carry the things you need to where they need to go.
The solution is simple. Place the fridge on a dolly and roll it everywhere you go. It even fixes the issue of "cold" leftovers. Sure, you might get food poisoning, but risks must be taken for the sake of convenience.
