Today, I met someone who works in radio advertising. Making conversation, I described an ad that I can't stand. He wrote it. FML

I would not say you deserved that one, but it is always good to start conversations with talking about something you do like, rather than something you don't like. Good luck

Maybe he'll take your opinion in consideration and try to make a better ad.

That might be a lesson learned to word everything carefully. When meeting someone new always try to talk positive not negative about things. Makes you seems more open and friendly OP. :)

Why lure them in with lies when they're enevitable gonna see your negative, grumpy side anyway - loljk

Just like a telemarketer the guy probably has some form of understanding of how what he does annoys others, I doubt he takes it all that bad.

Oh well not that big of a deal maybe he will work harder and improve because of you. if I was him I would prefer to get an honest opinion even if he didn't ask for it.

Well, OP, he probably knew that he couldn't have them all.

I've learned that's it's best to not mention thing you can't stand. It can lead to all sorts of things

It may be that the advert was deliberately designed to annoy people. One of many marketing strategies is to create an advert so irritating, that it makes people talk about it and therefore, wonder what it is about. For example, in the UK we have the Go Compare advert.

Yup , and that is why I will never, ever use that website...

If I was the advertiser I'd say well shit then I did a good job eh? You remembered it lol. Some ads you can tell they almost try and make you hate it so it sticks in your head

feedback like that is useful. he may have been a little offended at first but he will look at Hus work differently from now on. I would actually be glad to hear it.
