Today, I pointed out to my boyfriend how Valentine's day, my birthday, and our one-year anniversary were all coming up in the next few weeks. He then promptly broke up with me. FML

He could've just given you one big gift instead of doing several ones for each day.. My best friend celebrates her anniversary on Valentines Day so they can just do one big gift instead of two little ones. But, if he acts that way, then you are probably better off without him... I hope you find someone who will truly love you.

One thing that seems to have been overlooked in all the comments about him being a selfish asshole is that she had to point out that those things were all happening so close together. This could mean one of two things, either he has forgotten that all these things are happening almost all at once, in which case, she was lucky to be rid of him. Or she really does expect something big and elaborate for all three. One thing all women do is drop hints. Hints about things they want, hints about things that upset them. Hints that they are upset in general. Women almost never just come out with what they really want or feel. They expect the other person involved to be able to figure it out on their own. If this is the case, this guy dodged a bullet.
