You dodged a bullet there friend. Did you point out the irony of her objection? Could she appreciate it?

After reading all these FML's about proposals you'd think people would know better. NEVER propose unless you know she'll say yes. You might think it's romantic buy you're just putting her in an uncomfortable position.

How about you talked to your partner about marriage before proposing? Just because you want to marry it doesn't mean your partner wants it. YDI big time for clearly proposing out of the blue.

What does that say about you?

Well obviously she was right, I mean that is so the right way for her to handle this. Can you imagine if she had been completely immature about it and said that she just needed some space and time so that she could weigh the pros and cons? Or if she had asked you to wait for an answer until tomorrow so that she can figure out how she really felt? I mean that would have been completely out of line. For you to expect anything more mature out of her was just insane of you. You are so lucky that she handled it so grown up and reasonably I mean the only thing more mature that she could possibly have done at that point was if she'd stripped and run around the neighborhood naked. I mean really that's the only thing she could have done top her maturity level at that point. On a serious note I feel for you I really do, and I hope that you find the happiness and longevity that you are looking for. Good luck.
