I've had to go to the hospital to get one removed too. It had been put in the applicator backwards, and though I usually check them, I was in a rush to not be late to work.

What you do is push really hard like your giving birth. That should make it come out.

You need to use OB tampons they don't have an applicator so it's not as hard to break the string
