so you heard paper shredding as he walked in the door... MAYBE he has somebody in his office helping him sort through and shred unimportant documents, but on the other hand im sure he could also just have a shredderhe keeps conveniently beside the doorway so he can just drop in applications as he walks by...
Go knock on the door and ask...make them feel as uncomfortable as possible if they did(awkward situation sort of thing).

Federal law requires him to keep a copy of that resume for at least 6 months. It wasn't your resume and if it was you can put him in jail.
