Today, I quit smoking cigarettes. While driving to work, the car in front of me flicked his out the window, flying straight into mine. It set the bottom of my seat on fire. FML

Congrats! I'd like to say it gets easier. And it does. But, three years later I still get cravings. When people on TV smoke, I can smell it.

Ciggarettes burn at around 40 degrees celsius, I find this hard to believe

Yes, but they can be used to ignite something else that may burn much hotter. A disused hospital near where I live was recently burnt down by a discarded cigarette

Not to mention the material the car's seats are made of may be extremely flammable, as well. If something is really, really flammable, it won't take much heat to make it catch fire.

I'm from California. We've had many forest fires started from discarded cigarettes. Also, a friend burnt a hole in my car seat by accident with a cigarette. If she hadn't realized it and removed the cigarette, it's very possible the seat might've caught on fire.

The cigarette tried to kill you. It's a sign that you should keep to your promise to quit smoking or it might kill you!

That's the devil punishing you and trying to get you back. I actually almost kind of believe that, haha. Keep it up, you've got this!

This is why it's always a bad idea to drive with window open. See also: bees.

Hahaha thanks everyone who commented, the worst part is I didn't realize the seat was actually on fire as I pulled into a gas station. Luckily I had water and put it out right away. See also bees*** My first time driving a motorcycle had a wasp fly into my helmet and sting me repeatedly until I pulled over seems I have weird luck. Still sticking to quitting thanks for the encouragement!
