Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

Thats harsh but you did the right thing.....it would have been 20X worse if those kids had to bring home their half dead kitten then watch it die slowly in their arms.

AWW thats so sad, i mean i know no one wants to let animals suffer, but i dont think i could ever run something over a second time, really? why ddint you get out and see if it there was any way you could save it, my friends cat got ran over and it was bad. but they saved it. you coould have atleast tried to save it. if you had taken it to the animal hospital they could have tried or put it down the humane way.

You need to learn how to f'n drive. I understand that sometimes things dart out in your path beyond your control, but to not notice it was a kitten instead of a squirrel? ESPECIALLY when you looked behind you to back over it again? lern2payattention. Depending on how badly you'd hit it, the family might have been able to take it to the vet and have it fixed up. And if you would have paid attention and seen it was a kitten, maybe they could have. YFDI.

Guys. He RAN OVER a KITTEN. Pretty sure it wasn't going to live. Taking it to the vet would only add to the time it was going to suffer. It was RUN OVER and twitching. It was going to die. You can't really just hit a kitten with a car. We're not talking about a German Shepherd here. The OP did the humane thing by putting it out of its misery right away.
