Today, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it twitching, so I backed over it to end its suffering. It wasn't a squirrel; it was a kitten. The children it belonged to watched as I ran over their kitten. Twice. FML

you are a horrible individual. in what world would it seem right to run over an animal a SECOND time. perhaps next time you should watch where you are driving. how would you feel if someone ran you over a first time and then another time to put you out of your misery? karma will come back and bite you in the ass

I made an account just to tell all your people that think this story if "f-in hilarious" you are truly disturbed individuals. People who relish in the death of small animals often end up being psychotic serial killers, you crazy weirdos. Also, if you looked back and saw the animal twitching, wouldn't you have noticed then that it was a kitten and not a squirrel? Or maybe spotted the kids watching you? And how did you see a tiny cat twitching from your rear view mirror? You are just unobservant and it bit you in the ass. jerk.

I don't understand why people are saying that RUNNING IT OVER... TWICE is better than taking it to the vet, seeing if it could be saved, and if not, getting it euthanized so it could die HUMANELY. Jesus Christ. A neighbor of mine had a cat who snuck into the garage, and when she was pulling out of the garage in her car, she ran him over. The only thing wrong with him was a broken leg and he was fine after it was fixed. That might not have been the case here, but still — NOT YOUR CAT, NOT YOUR DECISION. If one of my cats ever got out and some ******* asshole not only ran him/her over, but then ran over him/her AGAIN JUST FOR LOLS I would drag the ****** out of the car and beat the shit out of him. FYL? Not even ******* close.

the whole point of dying 'humanely' is that it's fast and painless. If your insides are already squished keeping it alive for a further, what, minimum 15 minutes? required to get a vet is NOT humane. You will be in an intense amount of pain and probably only have a few hours left at best. In this incidence killing it as quickly as possible is all you can do, because painless has already gone out the window. So unless you routinely carry around the drugs required to put an animal to sleep, OP did the RIGHT THING.
