To answer some of the questions... Firstly, it's not like I cry every day.. we have been together for almost 4 years so he's seen me cry quite a bit over time. It's easy to notice when he's sitting in front of me or hugging me to console me. And if we're all being honest, sometimes it's just obvious that someone has a boner. My initial reaction was to be shocked and angrily ask if he likes to see me in pain but it's kind of hilarious when I'm not actually upset and crying. I agree that I don't think it's because he's trying to take advantage of me. Boners can have a mind of their own, and it could be an intimacy thing I guess since he's caring and always comforts me when I cry. Who knows... Thanks for the laughs, I enjoyed reading the comments :)

how much did you have to cry to figure that out?

Not at all. You can find he is an emotionally stable person, who is generally well adjusted. It's just the D wants what it wants. Fetishes exist in us all, just some are less "appropriate" in the eyes of society than others.

I get those too. It is a bit messed up. It is not because they are sad, it is because I want to cheer them up....with my dick.

He's probably into sadism or masochism

I'd say sadism. Or rather, he's a sadist, and is into masochists. The same thing happens to... Yeah, I'd say he's a sadist.

I second sadism, and there is nothing wrong with that. As long as he doesnt act rudely.

He could just be conditioned that when his gf cries, they have make up sex or something. If every time she cries and they have make up sex afterwords, I can see why he would get a boner.

That's weird. I never semen do that.

Agree with #10, it doesn't mean he's turned on by your sorrow. I assume you figured this out because you were physically close to him while crying. Sometimes just being near your romantic partner can cause it. Some guys also get a boner when they're (non-sexually) affectionate to their partner, such as comforting or hugging. Does not mean he doesn't care, it's usually quite the opposite. Still, I can understand why you wouldn't be happy about it at the time.

keep an onion on hand so you can use it when you're in the mood.

Maybe he just cares so much that he can only express it through his penis.
