OP here. Thanks lol. That's actually exactly what I was doing. I'm only 21, and I work in a very professional office, and I always need to look my best. I can't afford new shoes at the time, so that's why I sharpied them.

Well I'm not poor and I would do that...why spend unnecessary money if is a cheaper option...
We are in a recession
Op is obviously not too poor if they can afford sharpies
your so poor...and you have dress shoes?
your poor...yet you have internet, dress shoes, and a job?
Yes because having shoes, a job and the internet makes you a millionaire doesn't it? Shoes are a necessity, having them doesn't make you rich. As for a job and the internet, did you ever consider the possibility that she is broke from paying for the internet and other bills?
OP here. My dress shoes are actually from high school. So they're about 4years old, and still in pretty good shape, now that they've been sharpied. I am pretty much broke for the time being though lol. I have to finish paying off my car, my transmission, tuition for school, and other wonderful bills. Being an adult is fun l
Thrifty not poor!
Don't feel bad about that at all! I've taken a black Sharpie to scuffs on my dress shoes before. Couldn't even tell the difference. I don't think this is an FML or YDI.
