Christ, it has nothing to do with hygiene -- it's cultural norms. Men don't shave their legs, and it's not unhygienic. What are you, twelve?

Ahaha. You're right, my friend. :P Just because all the girls in **** are shaved doesn't mean it's "ewwww" not to. It's just preference. Like long hair vs. short hair, or skin color.

I mean, I normally shave my legs and all, even though it's a pain, but the last time I had sex I was rockin' some bitchin leg hair (it was unexpected sex)... did he complain? No. Did he notice? Nope.

Why are people so shallow as to say 'ew' to the fact she hasn't shaved her legs. it's natural get over it people. and i think men should actually appreciate the fact that women go through the hassle to shave they're legs and other areas. Where as men don't do any of that. You get off quite easily i would say. But seriously stop hating on her because she hasn't shaved them. ******* pathetic.

People are saying it's gross because it's gross in their opinion, duh. I think it's gross too. Yeah, it's natural, but my preference is for women to shave everything but their eyebrows and head. That's just me. Don't like it? Well guess what, my opinion's just as good as yours. We can hate on her just as much as you can hate on us for doing so. So there. Yes, this is NOT an FML. I actually changed my primary doctor when she said something along the lines of, "Hairy legs are very natural." Screw that. I mean, I think it's bad enough that I don't shave during the week. I've actually been looking into laser hair removal for my legs and bikini area....maybe a touch up for under my arms. Id much rather get rid of it forever than have it grow out... A lot of guys shave their faces for work and whatnot, why can't girls keep up with their legs?

You... changed your doctor because she made the perfectly reasonable (and true) statement that leg hair is natural? That's not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but it's top ten, at least.

I say they should make a new law making it socially unacceptable for men to not shave too. If women have do do it so should men. Btw YDI just cos you say it like it's a terrible tragedy.

That's right, they don't have to. It's just expected of them, and they get called disgusting if they don't. Personally, I shave pretty much everywhere except my head, but that's actually due to a somewhat neurotic obsession with smooth skin. Otherwise, I would consider shaving WAY too much of a hassle to do regularly. :/ OP, if it bothers you, shave, wax, whatever. If it doesn't bother you, then don't complain about it. Either way, this doesn't belong here.

...it's a law for women to shave? Since when? Since you couldn't think of a better way to vent your frustration for societal norms that no one person can be responsible for? Men are expected to shave, or at least stay well groomed. I know I wouldn't go into any job interview with the way my face looks right now.
