you can still enjoy yourself. If your supposed to go swimming you still can it just takes a little more effort. And actually something about being in water can make a lot of people stop bleeding. Have fun and try not to let it stop you from having a great time.
That's pretty common though :/ It's why I'm on birth control, so periods can't surprise me in the most inconvenient moments.
Dude, I have the exact same. I went to Rome a while back, and I got my period those four days we were there. I had to stay in the sea sitting so I wouldn't leak through my bathing suit ??
Take at least two consecutive weeks of vacation. Better make it three consecutive weeks.
Maybe go on birth control?
So, I'm sure this is TMI, but it goes out to everyone suggesting birth control to solve the problem. That doesn't work for everyone. There's such a thing as "breakthrough bleeding," and some people (like me) will start bleeding regardless of trying to delay a period despite extra pills, or just from being stressed enough. It's lighter than a period, but heavier than spotting. I tried one of those pills that's supposed to reduce the number of periods you have in a year, and bled for 3 months straight, becoming quite anemic.
It's just a bit of blood, just suck it up and have fun.
Try every time I have an exam since I started uni ...
My period started the day before I went to the Wisconsin Dells. It was a waterpark...

Being a female is amazing because your uterus automatically senses when the worst possible time to get a period arises...shame on you for not giving it a baby OP!! In all seriousness, they can come early/late due to stress or changes in diet and vacations usually have both :/ I hope you came prepared anyway even though it's an inconvenience
This happens to me all the time and it's the woooooorst.
