Today, I realized why I never hear my voice echoing when I sing to my boyfriend on Skype; he just mutes me. FML

Have you asked him if he likes to be sung to?

I'd definitely be annoyed if anyone was singing at me on Skype and mute them too.

It's weird to sing to someone, it's a personal thing and just because you love to do it doesn't mean you are good. It could be, that singing to someone is seen a deeply personal thing and it makes him feel uneasy not being able to show it back in an artistic way. Also, a lot of guys are kinda dicks in that way. Best option is just don't do it unless you know for sure they'd appreciate it.

They've probably seen and touched each other's genitals. I highly doubt singing is too intimate a thing for a couple to do in front of each other, he probably just doesn't like her singing voice.

I would mute singing too, it's just annoying unless you were asked to do it. There's a girl in my gaming group who sometimes raps on Vent, insta-mute. It's very distracting.

I think you need one maybe two things. Definatly a new bf (can't be mature enough to talk to you about it...) and secondly perhaps some singing lessons....just saying

I find it really awkward when people sing to me, idk why, I just do. So maybe he feels the same way. Or maybe he doesn't think you have a nice voice. As bad as that may seem. But at least he was being somewhat nice and not telling you to your face "your singing sucks, stop".

Or maybe ask if he wants to listen next time? Even if someone is good at singing, it doesn't mean I want to listen to them over and over again. If this has happened multiple times it sounds like OPs just singing for no particular reason and her boyfriend doesn't want to listen to her but doesn't have the heart to say :)

Instead of possibly hurting your feelings he was just improvising :)

Some computers don't have that echo. When I'm on Skype with people, my computer doesn't play back any of the sounds to the other person. I could play a YouTube video or music off of iTunes and it still won't be able to be heard by them. Try asking him about it.
