Today, I received a response to my perfectly straightforward online dating profile: "How about changing a dirty diaper, mommy?" FML

And that is when you pretend you didn't see the message and never reply...

That's actually a very straight forward come on in the fetish community. I applaud the weirdos boldness but seriously there is a separate place for those types of things. Just say your only fetish is praising God and see what happens lol.

Be like, "I'm not down with diaper town."

I'd block this guy and any other jerk who makes creepy comments. I recently read an article about a guy who did an experiment where he posed as a woman on an online dating site, using a friend's photo (with her permission) The guys were so creepy and insistent if he didn't respond right away to the multiple messages popping up. The crap he dealt with had him closing his account after a few hours, it was so bad.

Yes but that person's friend was a model and on that profile his interests were 'casual sex'. None of those guys cared what (s)he was like as a person, they were just hoping for a one-nighter and figured they wouldn't have to deal with the crazy psycho afterwards. Any woman who writes that she's after casual sex will get those replies.

My first reaction to this was that the messenger was a Dad (or possibly a Mom) and thinking OP might make a good step-mom or girlfriend and would be good with their children. They were asking if OP would be willing to change dirty diapers. That or asking OP if they'd be interested in having kids (possibly with them.) I'm probably wrong but it's less creepy/weird than the alternative (still weird but not as weird.) That's not the best way to find out if someone would be a good parent/step-parent material (in fact, it's probably one of the worst ways.) Some people might be into that type of stuff but it's still not appropriate unless OP states that she's into those sorts of those kinds of things.

At least you didn't get a message like this, "Have sez wif me plz." Or "are you into furries?" Those are creepy messages anybody can send to a woman.

you should have answered with "how about changing your own dirty filthy mouth"

If you mentioned you have a child, it was probably a rude way of telling you to stop trying to find a man, and spend more time with your kids. They don't know you, and its rude, but that would be how I would've interpreted it.
