I remember when my cat died, felt like a part of me died that day..
3 weeks and you didn't notice? If I don't see my cat everyday I feel broken inside
From reading the post, I am deducing the OP lives a fair distance from their mother, and may live in a place that does not allow pets, hence the cat being at their mothers. And the OP not being able to see their cat everyday, and not knowing for 3 weeks that their cat was dead. No way to know if OPs mother lied in conversation in the 3 weeks about the cats well being also, until the OP received the cats ashes.
Even if the cat was not important to your mom, it was important to you! She should have treated its passing with more respect. It is your right to have the time to mourn your pet.
I'm so sorry you had to find out this way OP. My horse died and was cremated 10 weeks ago and the crematorium offered to send him back in the post because I lived 4 hours away at that time; his ashes weigh 15kg, there is no way I was having him posted ! Luckily my mum lived only an hour away so she went and picked him up.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your cat. What an insensitive thing for your mom to do. She couldn't have picked up the phone and told you?
Seriously? Thats a bit too far...sorry about your cat OP...
Well that's a morbid way to tell Somone
