you inconsiderate person. you should have chosen something you had already seen that you thought could cheer her up instead of a random movie.
This is exactly the same as some other one almost word for word
Ahh that sucks... Well atleast it wasn't about an helicopter crashing...
YDI for not paying attention. Shit.
Never, ever, ever play defense. It just makes you into an insincere bastard. Apologize, but don't distract. Grieving is a weird yo-yo process of ignoring the pain and confronting the pain in an alternating fashion. You have to take it in little pieces to be able to get through it, but you can't ignore it forever or it screws you up in weird ways. You've accidentally forced her to deal with it. Apologize, hold her close, and help her deal with it. DO NOT try to change the subject or act like it didn't happen. It DID happen, and it's your fault, so you'd better bare-face it. Your friend has enough to deal with without having to worry about your embarrassment. Offer to go get a different movie and tell her she should pick it this time, on your dime. And buy her some take-out. (I think the other posters are a bit... hyperbolic. "Jump off a cliff?" Give me a break.)

Why did you continue to watch the entire thing...?
Wow, sorry, but you're an idiot.
