Today, I returned home after a long day of work. I noticed that my kitten had gotten a hold of my pin cushion, and that there were no needles left in it. My husband and I have only managed to find one, out of 16. FML

I hope the poor little one didn't eat them. They could perforate his stomach or bowel.

My suggestion is to walk around with a magnet....

GO TO THE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!! What if the kitten ate some? I am honestly more concerned about the kitten's life then a little discomfort for your family. PLEASE tell us if the kitten is ok! And please let this be a lesson: never leave anything sharp out ever again!!!

magnets. hover it slowly over the carpet and floors. It's what I did when my pets did something similar.

Watch where you step, and maybe take the kitten to the vet and have them see if there's any inside. I hope he/she is okay!

Well, at least you know how many pins you need to find and you won't be left wondering if there are more.

Small children and pets teach you the very valuable lesson of putting things away and out of their reach

Amazing that you keep track of how many pins you have on the cushion

I'd get that kitten x-rayed just to be on the safe side. On the chance that any of them are in there, it'll be better to find out early than after they start causing serious problems. Animals have swallowed stranger things.

Im a hijabi and wear those pins on my head daily. Inevitably some of them make it to the floor. I've never hurt myself stepping on them.... I feel them with my feet and then pick it up. It's because if the angle they lay at. However if you have floofy carpet they can lay at weird angles and prick you slightly. About the cat, I don't have pets, nor would I know their inclination of trying to eat sewing pins. But it's not something I would have thought of either. Don't beat yourself up. People can overreact on the Internet.

You wouldn't believe how many cats eat needles! Take your kitty to the vet ASAP!
