Today, I saw a car swerving in front of me on the freeway, so I whipped out my cell to report the DUI. As soon as it started ringing, I see police lights in my rear view and got slapped with a ticket for using a cell phone while driving. After explaining why, the officer said, "Nice try." FML

why didn't you just show him the last number dialed on your phone? I'm sure that a cop would know the local police phone number

It probably wasn't a DUII driver...it was probably just a person using their cell phone, just like you. I see it all the time, especially with texters.

I don't see why people are calling you a snitch like it's a bad thing. If you hadn't called, or you didn't get pulled over, that person could've slowed down and hit you, or sped up and hit somebody else (if they were drunk). I think it's good you called. FYL, dude, for trying to be a good person in this messed up world...

YTDI that's what you get for being a little snitch! mind you own freaking business!

You couldve explained more detailed. Show call history. And what the driver dissappeared during the cop being there. And I thought it was no texting not calling.

Honestly, I'm not sure why people are being so harsh on calling him a snitch. People swerving on a highway are potentially very dangerous to other drivers.

Since that's a secondary offense they couldn't have legally pulled you over for just talking on your phone.this is either fake or you got screwed

Overall, cops are pretty stupid. This just goes to explain why there are so many people out there driving under the influence, the justice system cares more about making the state money than actually protecting its citizens. They'll go out of their way to book someone for speeding and leave more dangerous criminals on the loose.
