Why didn't you jus show the cop your call history?(:
Snitches get stiches
What's with all the ridiculous "snitching" comments on this FML? If someone is drunk on the road, they can easily harm or kill innocent people in their vehicle. If you let drunk drivers off the hook and they hurt someone, that blood is on your hands too. You are at fault for not reporting it, since you could have done your part to prevent a tragedy before it occurred, but simply chose to do nothing. It's all "ydi for snitching!" responses until it's YOUR mother/father/sister/brother/best friend laying mangled and dead on the road. Anyone who gets in the driver's seat drunk knows the risks--that they could kill someone, it is illegal, and there's a good chance they'll get caught by a roadblock or called in by another motorist. By doing it anyway, they are accepting these risks.

why didn't you just show him the last number dialed on your phone? I'm sure that a cop would know the local police phone number
It probably wasn't a DUII driver...it was probably just a person using their cell phone, just like you. I see it all the time, especially with texters.
