FYL. But at least you were trying to help, and not just "turkeynecking"
Cops aren't allowed to unlock your car for u anymore because if they damage it they aren't insured for stuff like that so you can sue the P.D. And what kind of roadside assist doesn't come to highways?! That's just dumb.
OP is in Australia, so are you 100% sure about what cops can and can't do there?
this reminds me of that episode of family guy where peter learns cpr, and then is totally obnoxious and makes a fool of himself... when you have little to no medical knowledge, DON'T STOP AT A CAR ACCIDENT. you will only get in the way. taking a 3 hour cpr class doesn't teach you anything about what else can go on in an emergency, and you only know the bare bones about cpr anyway. i know this, because i'm a paramedic and i teach cpr... with all of the other trauma complications that can happen in a car accident, you could severely injure someone if you give them cpr without completely knowing what you are doing. so maybe fate was doing you a favor or teaching you a lesson...
Yes, bad OP for thinking she coud help someone who might be in need! No one ever do that, ever again! There are professionals for that! Even if it is a case of keeping someone alive until the paramedics come, don't do anything, just let them die! Seriously, you're a paramedic, so you know what you're talking about, but don't be an ass at someone who is trying to be a good human being. "Teaching you a lesson"
HAHA
Spare keys, my friend.
YDI for not getting better roadside assistance.
