I can't say you deserve because it seems like just bad luck. Afterall, $80 pants could just be dress pants .. I know when I used to work at an office, I had to pay $120 for just the damn pants they wanted. Though it sounds like perhaps they weren't big enough to fit you or they're fairly worn... But seriously, sew them. Take some thread and hand-sew the hole up-- it can't be /that/ big, could it? If they ripped that easily, then it was probably along a seam.
